Grievance Procedure

This procedure is designed to allow each Brigadier a clear cut path to follow to resolve any dispute between Brigadiers.

The overriding Principle of the grievance procedure is that we're all adults who share a desire to be part of a group while we get to kill stompy robots, all are equal in that we are all Brigadiers. Per our mission statement and Code of Conduct, we are one family, all voices will be heard and all shall be treated with dignity and respect, fairly without any form of bias. All Brigadiers will follow the Grievance Procedure without the fear of any retribution or retaliation.

Grievance Procedure Process

Stage one

Any dispute between two parties should try to be resolved between themselves in a non formal, open discussion with the intent to resolve the issue. Sometimes the outcome is simply to agree to disagree. As long as both parties are able to resolve the issue in a courteous manner, the issue will be considered resolved.  Mediation can be sought via company level chain of command staff if required by either/both parties. Open and honest discussion is the lynchpin of this stage.

In the event that one or more party does not feel that the issue can be discussed within their own battalion, they may at their own discretion and with stated reason, approach the same stage company level chain of command within another battalion to act as mediator.

If at this stage the dispute is considered resolved by all parties, no further action will be taken.

Stage two

If resolution is not found via the stage one of this process, then the company level mediator will request the issue be advanced to the Battalion CO/XO, further mediation will take place.

In the event that one or more party does not feel that the issue can be discussed within their own battalion, they may at their own discretion and with stated reason, approach the same stage Battalion CO/XO level chain of command within another battalion.

If at this stage the dispute is considered resolved by all parties, no further action will be taken.

Stage three

If resolution is not found via the stage two of this process, then the Battalion CO/XO will request the issue be advanced to the DHB Command staff XO’s, further mediation will take place.

This is the final stage of the grievance procedure.  Any and all resolutions reached at this stage are final and binding to all parties involved.

Deadly Sins

If any Brigadier engages in actions that are directly insulting to race, sex, sexual orientation, national origin or religion, they will be immediately warned as to their behaviour in the first instance.  If that warning remains unheeded they will then be removed from TS and may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including removal from the unit. This is in line with the DHB Code of Conduct.
